Hand made cheese from our Anglesey family farm
We are a family run dairy farm producing award winning artisan cheese from our own cows creamy milk. The pedigree Holstein Friesian cows are all bred on the farm and are all out on lushes grass pasture during the spring and summer months. They are indoors during the cold winter and sleep on comfy deep beds of sand. They are milked twice a day- at 5.00a.m. and 4.00p.m seven days a week, 365 days a year , even on Christmas day!
The cheese is made in a small modern dairy on the farm less than 30 meres from where the cows are milked. The dairy includes a pasteuriser- all our cheeses use pasteurised milk. It also includes a small cheese vat, a maturing fridge and a cold room.
The cheese is made using vegetarian rennet and is suitable for vegetarians. All the ingredients are natural-and of course we use Anglesey Sea Salt ‘Halen Mon’ in our hard cheese.
We were pleased to win the Supreme Cheese at the Royal Welsh in 2014 with our Anglesey Blue. The cheese also won the President’s Cup which was a great honor and privilege. We also gained a Gold with the Farmhouse Cheddar and the best produce of the Year by Anglesey Tourist Awards for our Camembert.
Our cheeses are available to buy online, at local farmers markets, local farm shops and independent outlets. We do not supply any supermarkets. We also supply cheese wedding cakes to order and can deliver and set up the ‘cake’ if within reasonable distance.
